Join us for an evening of poetry with our welcoming host, Angelique Neumann, with special guests Biswamit Dwibedy & Cole Swensen!
Whether you're a poet, a poetry lover, or simply curious, this is an opportunity to share words, listen, and connect with fellow literary enthusiasts. Please note, this event will be hosted in English, but both English & Portuguese Poetry are welcome.
On this occasion, we will welcome at Good Company Bookstore, two poets, Biswamit Dwibedy and Cole Swensen. They will read from their most recent books and engage in a conversation with the audience.
Cole Swensen is a poet and translator who has several collections of poetry and has taught in esteemed MFA programs such as Iowa, UDenver, and Brown University.
Biswamit Dwibedy is the co-director of the MFA program at The American University of Paris. Originally from India, he lives in Paris. His memoir, Hundred Greatest Love Songs was published in India by Penguin Random House in 2025.
What to Expect from the Event?
The evening will begin with a few readings from Angelique before we open the floor to the open mic, for anyone who wishes to share their poetry in a warm and welcoming environment.
If you’d like to perform, please prepare 1 or 2 poems, ideally originals. Both English and Portuguese poetry are welcome.
Not a performer? No problem! You’re more than welcome to attend and enjoy the readings as part of the audience.
After 1 hour of Open Mic, our guests, Cole and Biswamit, will read from their most recent books and engage in a conversation with the audience.

This event is free to attend, but we ask that you register a free ticket in advance so we know how many people to expect. Seating is limited and on a first-come-first-serve basis.

How To Find Us
By Metro: We're situated a 5-minute walk from the Campo Pequeno metro (Yellow line) and a 10-minute walk from the Alameda metro (Green & Red lines).
By Bus: There are many convenient bus options 2 blocks away from us on Avenida República, with the closest stop to our store being Campo Pequeno-Av. Republica.
By Bike: If you're using the Gira public bicycles, there is a docking station right across the street (#431 - Rua do Arco Cego / Av. Magalhães Lima).
By Car: There is a paid parking lot across the street, between Rua Arco do Cego and Rua Dona Filipa de Vilhena. Street parking is also available around the neighborhood.
