It might sound like an odd choice to open an English bookstore in Lisbon, but it was a carefully considered one. These days, many people read in English, even if it's not their native language. The English book market is also the largest in the world, and it's often the first language a book is translated into, so if you want to read a book written in a language you don't know, you can typically find it in English. Lisbon is blessed with a number of excellent bookstores that cater to every audience, but the selection of English books available is very small. Good Company was founded to provide Lisbon with a specialized English-language bookstore, and give our community access to a new world of literature.

Absolutely, we have suppliers in both Europe and the US, so we can source any English language title still in print, as well as pre-order upcoming ones for you.
We are not currently hiring, but we always want to hear from interested booksellers and baristas. Please send us a message with your CV and contact information. We keep all CVs we receive, and review them when positions are available.
