"Wild Yeast" Stories about wine: Storytelling & Wine Tasting

April 2, 202619:00

Join us for the evening of storytelling and wine tasting with the author, Izabela Kaminska!

If you enjoy a good story with a glass of wine in your hand, this is the event for you.

Izabela will take you on an adventure through her stories crafted with her rich travel experience, knowledge, and, most importantly, curiosity about wine and all its secrets.

In her book Wild Yeast: Stories about wine, she explores how Crocodile Dundee and Chornobyl helped Europe fall in love with Australian Shiraz, shares her personal passions for books and films, and tells the story of how manga “The Drops of Gods” saved Bordeaux, among others.

The good news is that what you will hear during the event, you can take home, saved between two covers! Copies will be available during the event, but you can also get your copy beforehand on our website: Purchase your copy here!

Your experience will be elevated with a wine tasting prepared by Izabela herself, with the help of ODE Winery, Portuguese Wine Producers.

What to expect from the event:

Izabela will present her book in her own way - with storytelling, to give you a glimpse of stories you can find in Wild Yeast: Stories about wine. While listening, to offer you a full experience, you will have the opportunity to taste selected wines from ODE Winery.

About the author:

Izabela Kamińska - Journalist, wine expert, wine competition judge, and educator (holder of the WSET Diploma – the highest level awarded by the global Wine and Spirit Education Trust). Co-creator of the Ale wino YouTube programme and author of the Dzikie drożdże podcast. For six years, she was part of the wine portal Winicjatywa and has also written for Smak and Kukbuk magazines.

A philologist by education, she is now also an artist exhibiting her work in Warsaw and Lisbon. She currently lives in Portugal, where she hosts wine events and seeks inspiration for new podcast episodes and future books.

About the book:

Wine is more than just a drink made from grapes. That’s why the stories told in Wild Yeasts are not only about wine itself, but also about our civilization, human discoveries, politics and war, art, culture, pop culture, and our relationship with nature.

This book is the result of my many journeys, conversations with winemakers, and hundreds of books and articles I’ve read. In it, I share my passion, discoveries, favourite places around the world, and films and books. And most importantly, my knowledge.

I invite you to join me on a journey through this extraordinary world.
