Women in Art: Uncovering stories of women on a journey through art history

March 12, 202619:00

Join us for an evening of incredible and often untold stories of women in art hosted by Jeanne Couaillier!

Event hosted in English

Where Are the Women in Art? Were women simply bad at painting? Or too busy embroidering and making tea? According to legend, a woman actually invented painting.

So what happened?

This lively and accessible talk takes you on a journey through Western art history, from Ancient Egypt to today, uncovering the hidden (and often overlooked) stories of women in art.

Host: I’m Jeanne, an international art teacher, designer, and art historian. I’ve lived in eight countries, and I love sharing creative ideas and inspirations in a warm, accessible way.

What to expect from this event?

We’ll explore how women moved from muses to makers, from patrons to pioneers, how and why their names were erased from art history, and discover remarkable women artists from each period.

By the end, you’ll not only have met incredible women artists, but you’ll also leave with a few excellent conversation starters for your next dinner party. Expect an interactive, engaging, and eye-opening session.

Questions, debate, and curiosity are very welcome!

What do you need to bring?

Participants are welcome to bring anything that will help them to absorb the talk; books, notepads, something to write etc.
