A young Brazilian woman moves to a university in Vermont, in the United States, to study literature. Introspective, she gradually adapts to the cold climate and the functional nature of the campus, befriending other immigrant students. Every day, she sits before the bluish glow of her computer screen to talk via Skype with her mother, who has remained behind in Rio Grande do Norte.
