We’re inviting curious and passionate film lovers to a screening of L'Atalante (1934), the singular masterpiece by Jean Vigo. Set along the quiet canals of France, the film follows a young couple beginning their married life aboard a river barge, where love, routine, and longing drift together in unexpected ways. Since 2020, Curious Monkey Film Club has been a gathering place for thoughtful film fans with an eye for detail and a love of storytelling. We don’t just watch films - we unpack them, explore them, and ask what they still have to say to us today. Our selections span genres and eras, chosen not by popularity but for their enduring craft and intrigue.
Film Timings:
6:00pm - Arrive early to grab a drink, browse the bookshore and line up for entry.
6:30pm - Entrance opens and film starts promptly. Limited seats. First come, first serve!
Post-film discussion: ~20 minutes
Tickets & Entry:
This is a donation-based event to support the continuation of the Curious Monkey Film Club. Registration is free, but mandatory. The space has limited capacity, registration does not guarantee entry. When the space is full we will not allow more to enter. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Chairs are first come, first serve but we also have plenty of standing and floor seating space available.

How To Find Us
By Metro: We're situated a 5-minute walk from the Campo Pequeno metro (Yellow line) and a 10-minute walk from the Alameda metro (Green & Red lines).
By Bus: There are many convenient bus options 2 blocks away from us on Avenida República, with the closest stop to our store being Campo Pequeno-Av. Republica.
By Bike: If you're using the Gira public bicycles, there is a docking station right across the street (#431 - Rua do Arco Cego / Av. Magalhães Lima).
By Car: There is a paid parking lot across the street, between Rua Arco do Cego and Rua Dona Filipa de Vilhena. Street parking is also available around the neighborhood.
