About the Workshop
Have you ever found yourself surrounded by people who really “get” wine? The ones who swirl their glass in an overly romantic way and drop generic platitudes about tannins and terroir, making the whole wine tasting experience feel... unbearable?
Don’t worry - we’re not here to create more of them. Instead, this workshop is all about having fun while learning the basics of wine tasting (Wine 101, if you will) and picking up a few solid tools for spotting the Tools of the wine world - the so-called wine snobs.
Warning: We will plant the seed of wine appreciation in you. We will spark a genuine passion for wine. But as Uncle Ben once told Peter Parker: “With great power comes great responsibility.” It’s up to you to nurture that power - and resist turning into the next wine villain.
Who will host the event?
Mário Marques is a Sommelier, formerly working in some amazing restaurants and is one of the founders of "Who's Wine?", a 5 years-old distribution company that focuses on amazing small producers that prioritize their love for where they are from, and respect nature as the vessel that allows them to produce such wonderful nectars.
More than anything, Mário loves a good chat over a glass (make it a bottle) of wine, gobbling wine knowledge (because - oh boy! - there's always something to learn) and oversharing it with whomever is keen to listen (or just seems mildly interested), making him the perfect, knowledgeable host for this Introductory Workshop to Wine Tasting.
What's included?
This 90-minute structured workshop includes a tasting of 4 wines. Snacks and materials will be provided, and there will be plenty of opportunity for fun discussion, so bring any and all wine questions!
